Back in the summer of 2002 a number of events caused the formation of the band known as ToXiC CocktaiL. Bismuth had been on hiatus since James Vaughan left to work in Florida. This led to Rob Hewitt joining Blackened Souls, after an invite from lead guitarist Phil Page. However due to musical differences Rob left the band and Phil followed shortly afterwards.

Gareth Higgs had been travelling the UK with work, and many a lonely night were spent writing and designing the next greatest metal band in the world! Slowly the songs started to take shape. However there were many different subjects, each which would be suited to be played in a certain style. How to choose? Indeed! In the end… the music decided the name –

ToXiC CocktaiL!

Gareth then discussed with Phil about a new band and they soon entered Mirage Studios, swiftly followed by Rob. Then Owain Vaughan, also from Bismuth, joined and the band was formed. After some internal re-organisation, Rob took over the drums replacing the drum machine and he invited ex-band member Ian Larke to join on bass in early 2003.

The band worked furiously towards their first demo and all was on track for a summer production/release. However, TC were dealt a double blow. The first was the departure of Ian who was moving to London. James was back from the US for 2 weeks so he filled in on bass. Unfortunately Mirage Studios were unable to record the demo onto CD, and the final tape was far from satisfactory!

With Owain a newly proud father, James' return to the US and Mirage's inability to produce an acceptable demo, the band's future looked to be in serious jeapordy! Two months passed with no practice - all seemed to be doomed! Then a chance meeting with Andy from Mulch, led to a recommendation about Transpose Studios. One phonecall later, and on a miserable Sunday afternoon in October the band re-united. Whether it was the change of location, the different drumkit or the well-needed break, but the band felt refreshed and ready to battle once more! Three new songs have been worked on and are shaping up very well!
After constant visits to Transpose the band is ready to make 2004 the year that ToXiC CocktaiL is unleashed upon the world!
